Nowadays, overpopulation has become one of the major issues in certain main urban areas worldwide.
Include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience to back up your answer.

Sample Band 8 Answer
This essay will first suggest that the lack of job opportunities and basic life needs in rural areas are the chief causes forcing people to migrate to urban areas. It will also propose that creating more jobs as well as more facilities within the reach of residents of less developed areas might hinder this problem, followed by a reason conclusion.
One of the foremost reasons of over-crowdedness in the developed cities around the globe is the fact that people from rural areas migrating there in a fast pace. This is due to the lack of employment in the rural areas. Additionally, in the metropolitan cities, there is an easy access to hospitals, pharmacies and shopping malls, unlike countryside, where people have to travel miles to get what they need. For instance, Lahore is one of the main cities of Pakistan, where we can find people from all the backgrounds. The basis behind this is the more chances of getting work and promotion. Furthermore, all the basic life necessities are close by.
The viable solution to this worrying issue is that the government should provide more funds in the underdeveloped regions of the country, which will not only open up the job facilities for people living there, but will also help in the establishment of hospitals, dispensaries and shopping centres. With this development, rural people would not have to worry to travel long distances to get the basic goods and urgent help. As an illustration, in the northern areas of Paksitan, Agha khan support system is working in commercialising the place by improving the road works and developing more industries and hospitals for people’s convenience.
In conclusion, in the present era, although overpopulation is a principal problem in urban areas due to lack of jobs and basic life facilities, governments should tackle this issue swiftly by opening the doors to more jobs and basic needs facilities in the rural centres, which the people can access easily.
