Creative artists should always be given the freedom to express their own ideas( in words, pictures, music or film) in whichever way they wish. There should be no government restrictions on what they do.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience to back up your answer.
Write a minimum of 250 words.
Sample Band 6 Answer
There should not be States involvement in any art work or restrictions on freedom of expression. Every artist should be encouraged for his/her works, because, every one has right to express their ideas or feelings through sketching , singing , and writing or whatever they want to do. While, this essay agrees that they should be given free hand for their profession by which countrys economy may boost but, at the same time this unlimited authority might become root cause of an inappropriate revolution.
On the one hand, in this modern era every one has equal rights to express what they want. Similarly, this limitless authority will tend them to do endless efforts towards their work which in result will become one of major source of increasing countrys economy. For example, majority of the people spend their money and leisure time on watching movies not only this but, huge collection of portraits in galleries attract large number of foreigners visitors to spend their hard currency in any developing country. The Micheal Angelos work is good example , which attracts people towards it self till today.
On the other hand,it is said that The only thing by which anyone can easily change the minds of young generation is artistic work. Sometimes a few artists try to take anti-state decisions, which they usually transfer via their works which becomes only reason behind rebellion to government. These unpardonable offences are totally unbearable and unforgivable.
In conclusion, it has been seen that no doubt full free hand to artists might take country economically high but , also can destroy its elected body of Parliament to a certain extent. Thus, its better to allow them to describe what they actually want, but must be in positive manners and under rules and the regulations.

TA – the introduction contradicts itself. How does Michelangelo relate to the present situation? Do artists boost a countrys economy? You need an example in para 3 to help the reader. How can artists describe what they actually want under rulesÿand the regulations? // CC – I don;t understand the use of similarly in para 2. Para 3 has a positive topic sentence but then goes on to take a negative view// LR – there is adequate collocation// G – articles are a noticeable weakness and punctuation is faulty is places.Most sentences contain an error (usually an article)// So, Id say: TA – 5// CC – 6 (close to 5)/ LR – 7 (just)// G – 7 (might be 6)// = 6.0.
