There are many different types of music in the world today .why do we need music ? Is the traditional music of a country more important then the international music that is heard everywhere nowadays.
Include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience to back up your answer.
Write a minimum of 250 words.
Sample Band 6 Answer
Nowadays music has become the prime source of relaxation. Several categories of melodies are introduced daily . Some people assume local music to be classic as compare to the music which is famous globally.However, others do not agree with it . I firmly agree with the above statement that traditional music is significant to reflect the cultral inheritage of a country .
Furthermore, long established music of a country depicts the particular identity of the residents of nation. For example , Sindhi folk music represents the stories, cultures and histories associated with the inhabitants of sindh province . In addition , it symbolizes the affection and emotions of the natives towards culture . This helps the new generation to explore their customs and traditions , while international music on the other hand is unable to recognise all these aspects . This proves that traditional music carries huge importance in society .
Moreover , there is another aspect to this argument. Many people think that international music is versatile. However , certain additions to melodies are not equally acceptable by every individual .for instance , the introduction of rap music is not admissible by every individual because they do not understand it easily . Instead , they prefer to listen to their traditional songs , which sounds melodious to them . As a result , traditional tunes gains more importance then international tunes .
To conclude , i personally believe that a person puts more attention and pay more interest to things which are related to their own indentity and music is just the same . Traditional music of a nation is very important to introduce the customs and culture of a nation , globally . Traditional music should be given more limelight as compare to the international music.

Note that these instructions are for the pre-2004 exam. TA – How helpful are the first 2 sentences of the introduction? Unfortunately, the answer is a ‘muddle’, particularly the conclusion and you don’t signal enough to help the reader. As Zainab points out, I can’t see where you answer “.why do we need music ?” and that has to limit the band// CC – this is borderline because para 3 develops well & there is use of cohesion in para 2 (but limited to “this” 2x). I fail to understand how para 2 can begin with “Furthermore”// LR – natural use of collocation But “be/put in the limelight”// G – I’ll ignore the missing capital letters. There are verb ending slips (traditional tunes gains ) and there could be more variety i grammar patterns
So, I’d say:
//TA – 5
// CC – 6
// LR – 7 (8 without the 2 spelling errors?)
// G – 7 (8 with more care)
//Overall = 6.0 (but the potential for considerably higher).
