Sample Band 7 Answer
Due to the advancements in technology , living standard of people has increased massively.It is often argued that people living in a modern world have a better quality of life than the previous centuries.I completely agree with this viewpoint because improvements in the means of communication and ways of transportation have considerably improved living conditions in the modern world.
For one, better means of communication have certainly improved the lifestyle of people.This is because people can easily and quickly stay in touch with their loved ones.For instance, in the past, people used to interact with people, who are living far away, by sending a letter, which was very time consuming, but these days people can contact each other in a minute by making a phone call.This example shows that lifestyle of people in the twenty-first has a better lifestyle than previous generations.
Additionally, quality of life in the modern has also improved because of the new ways of transportation.For example, in the eighteenth- century, people used to travel by horse and that would take too long to travel from one place to another.However, people nowadays can conveniently and easily move from one area to another by vehicles or aeroplanes.Thus, it is clear that people have a better life now than the past.
To conclude, due to the advances in the field of communication and transportation people’s living standards have been improved significantly.Therefore, I firmly agree that people now have a better life than that previous generation in old centuries.
