Sample Band 6 Answer
There is a constant debate about the aim of university education . some claim that it is important to gain employment , whilst , other believe that the benefits are far beyond that . I advocate the view that the outcomes of university are broader than just getting a job.
To begin with , students spend most of their time in university . Thus , the tend to meet and see each other frequently during the day . Therefore, this will give them the chance to build relationships and know more about each others . The majority of friends have been made in university last throughout the studying years , some friendships are kept even after graduation . consequently, this will lead to developing a tremendous communications skills . another skills which is considered beneficial is that , students attend to be more self-dependable , attentive and dedicated to getting things done . For instance , many students live alone without their parents sharing an apartments with their classmates . They start to doing things which they didn?t use to , such as : washing the dishes , cleaning the toilets and moping the floors . henceforth , they obtain numerous personal skills which are mandatory for the individual daily life .
Rather than developing skills , another benefit which is consider crucial during the university study years is research methods and experiments . University is a suitable place for researches and experiments. The facility is well provided by the tools necessary for each , therefore researches and laboratory experiments could be carried out by those interested . Thus , this will strengthen their knowledge more and they will be granted for a good experience and a scholarship .
Thus even though , while it is thought by some that securing a tertiary education is substantial only for getting paid position , I admire the fact that , the beneficial aftereffects are still remarkable .

TA – the aim of university education is copied from the question in the introduction. You deal with the question well but the answer is rather general, particularly in para 3, Where are the relevant examples? But the main weakness is that I cant see where you discuss both views. In fact, you give your opinion in the introduction// CC – there is a sense of development but I feel you rely on basic conjunctions too much. Carrier nouns/text referring words would help the reader more by signalling. It is not a good idea to write lists,as you do in para 2// LR – there is just enough strong/common collocation (research is uncountable)// G – I will ignore the capital letter errors but in the exam this would be penalised.start to doing? – verb pattern. Errors are rare but there is little evidence of the ability to use complex grammar structures// So, Id say: TA – 5//CC – 7 (just)// LR – 7// G – 7 (8 if you are lucky)// = 6,5 (but most of your band scores are borderline, apart from TA).
